A New Flame
              REFLAMED

For none of us lives or dies to ourselves. If we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So, whether we live or whether we die, we belong to the Lord. Romans 14:7-8

And then I did something teachers aren’t supposed to do… I prayed, I prayed out loud

Rhonda Crosswhite, the teacher who saved her class during the Oklahoma tornado

Here’s the backstory: Moses dies, and Joshua becomes the new leader. God tells Joshua to take some guys with him and go on a trip with the Ark of the Covenant. You know right away that it’s a test because God wants them to cross OVER the Jordan River. Yikes! (Joshua 3:12-13)

The Lesson: Okay, let’s be honest. We don’t want to get our feet wet. I don’t. You don’t. Joshua doesn’t either. I don’t want to have to wait until I get all the way into the river for God’s power to show up. I want things to happen when I’m a few yards away. Even better, I want God to act before I even decide to step in. I want to know that I won’t be swept away with the current.
But that’s not the way faith works. Faith pushes us out of our comfort zone. Faith kicks us out of the boat. Faith makes us take a step before we’re sure. The water gushes past us, and our only anchor is faith. Stepping in is hard. It takes courage. Luckily, we were never meant to do it alone

There’s a gap between who we are today and who God created us to be. We all need to ask ourselves, ‘Is the gap closing? Or am I stalled?’

Constant contact with the Creator is essential for transformation living.

God’s power generally gets released when somebody trusts Him enough to obey Him.

Hatred and bitterness are poisons to the work that God wants to do in and through our lives.

  • Dad: Go clean your room
  • Son: Alright!
  •  (Hour later)
  • Son: Hey dad! So I memorized what you said and can recite it back to you forwards and backwards and in three different languages!
  • Dad: That's nice but did you clean your room?
  • Son: No... But I think I'm going to get a group of guys together and we're going to study what it would look like if I cleaned it!
  •  Why do we do this with what Jesus commands us to do?

The greatest factor in your ability to hear God’s voice is your ability to believe God loves you enough to speak to you on a moment by moment basis.

Let’s throw out or complicated ‘prophetic formulas’ and teach relationship.
